A consumer microsite built for Alouette’s promotion with the Adventures of Tintin Movie built using ASP.NET Web Pages and a SQL Compact database.
The purpose of the site was to allow consumers to register for a chance to win various prizes over the duration of the promotion.
A form on the homepage was used to get registrations, and was repurposed after the promotion for newsletter sign ups.
The trailer on the site made use of Adobe’s Flash Media Playback which provides a video player for a self-hosted video file. It lets you customize the player, provide your own poster image and easily embed the player on your site.
Other than the registration form, the recipe section features some simple functionality using FancyBox to load in recipe content from other pages.
With the recipe content loaded into a iframe, controlling the screen and print styles was much easier.
Before the contest was set to start a splash page was created to allow consumers to sign up and be notified when the promotion would start. The form was built with Wufoo and styled with a custom style sheet.
Because the site was built in tandem with the trade site, both sites were able to utilize common, shared files on a subdomain.
